Sunnyvale, CA | When the decision to have the default to use/not use WAAS in position fix was being made, we were not convinced that including WAAS SVs in the position fix was as stable as we wanted. Now that we have seen how well adding WAAS to the position fix works, we are planning to change the default to "Use WAAS" in the next release so a new unit will be set properly. When upgrading an older unit with new firmware the setting will still be to "not use WAAS..." because we do not wish to make a change to the user's configuration when new firmware is installed. As it has been observed, the setting is preserved over power ON cycles, so it only has to be set once for older receivers when upgraded to ver 3.00, and the next time that receiver is upgraded, it should remain set to "use WAAS". | |
