Coldwater, Michigan | Actually the clean machinery idea is an excellent one. Many parts of Michigan has Soybean Cyst nematode. We also have nematodes in Beets. If you cleaned your machinery between fields it would probably slow down the spread of the suckers. Somethings are practical, others aren't. It isn't that hard to take extra time to clean prior to crossing border (been involved in that before). However, not as practical to clean between each field in many cases.
I realize nematodes exist elsewhere as well, and cleanliness is one of the suggested control measures.
