I know this is a different style check valve than you are using but I'll post it anyway and maybe it will help someone else.

Our 1/2" stainless check valves were not flowing evenly and we found that the hose barb fittings had a long threaded area that was screwed to deep into the valve body when it was assembled at the factory. The stainless threads cut the plastic from the barb fitting and filled the valve full of plastic fillings and the shank of the fitting almost closed off the flow in the inside the valve body.

We used a shorter barb fitting and re-assembled without overtightening the treads and I think it is fixed.
