Dry side of Oregon
Our sensor is placed directly in an auger and measures grain properties as things flow by.  It is based on NIR technology which is the common method used at the elevator albeit they still take grab samples.  A value is updated every 2 seconds.  Currently, we have calibrations for %protein in wheat however, we can calibrate for moisture, oil, and protein of most cereal grains with better than 0.5% accuracies.  Our windows based software can be configured to send signals to external hardware such as motors and encoders to automate where things need to go.  If you would like more information, please send me a personal email or visit my web site and we can discuss this off forum.
