Subject: RE: Jeep liberty diesel milage?

Canton, OH & South Central PA
I have a 2006 Liberty CRD (Diesel). It has about 52,000 miles on it. The best I got was 30 mpg. My overall average for the life of the vehicle is 26.5 mpg. I drive mostly interstate (65 mph) and not much local stop-n-go. In the summer months and highway driving I get consistantly 28-30 mpg. I have no problems with the engine (keeping my fingers crossed). It still uses about 1 quart of oil per 5000 miles. I like the vehicle as it has lots of low end torque. I pulled a trailer (4000 lbs) a few times and you do not know it is there. My only complaint is diesel fuel is now $1.02 more than regular gas. At the current price differential I could drive a gas powered vehicle that gets 20 mpg and break even on fuel price.
