NE South Dakota | The hy-capacity website still have them listed as a "shark tooth shredder"....I ran one in a 1460 with a standard rotor,I used it to replace the 3rd or last grate. I used it in soybeans and spring wheat. If the rotor speed was about 700 rpm or greater it did a fair job of cutting up the straw, also had the rear bars on the rotor with the teeth on them.I didn't have a chopper on my machine...the shark teeth are sickle sections that bolted to the grate. It does not work as good as a oem chopper to cut the straw up...but not near the cost either...the sickle sections will run a long time.I pushed some pretty tough stuff thru it with good results.....some complained that it would plug with material on the left side of the machine but I never had that problem.I still have one in the shop for a 60 series machine. | |
