The meters themselves are plastic and kind of resemble a 1/4" wide circular saw blade. The teeth seem pretty aggressive. Possibly too aggressive for heavy dry fertilizer. I've never been around anything but a broadcast spreader for dry so I'm not sure how the feed should look.
