Can a grass seeder attatchment be used for fertilizer?

Though I've never tryed fertilizer, anything else with even the slightest bit of moisture or stickyness to it just gums up the meters and renders it all useless. Even small legume seeds with too much talc or inoculant will plug the flutes and make it just a smoothe roller. The flutes on a GP are plastic however, so........ I think the square rod that drives the flutes is a like 5/16", or rather it is on an IH as I recall. (blasted CRS) So a 12 point square socket should fit on the end so you can unhook the drive chain and run it with a drill for a test run. ??
