Oklahoma | Question: What is the reasoning behind paying for a cover crop but letting it be harvested and still getting a payment?
To get an incentive here, we have to plant at least 50% legume, no-tilled, and then kill with herbicide or mowing in order to recieve payment. The reasoning is building OM and storing N. This is the first year of it so we will see how it pans out in the long run. | |
