Subject: Re: Cover crops

we apply wheat cover crop to every acre in fall weather permitting. We apply it with our row hippers with a mounted gandy air seeder. the set up only applies the cover see to the middles and is incorparated by the falling dirt back in the middles from the hippers. leaving is a cover free bed on top and a good cover in the middles to help surpress weeds, runoff and for sand protection. we do nothing to our cover crop until our first shot of roundup over the top of the cotton. and it is a light shot, we want the wheat cover to die slow and remain standing for wind and sand protection. I have some pics somewhere and will post them.

First pic is what it looks like after the hippers has sown it in the fall before we plant in the spring. second pic is after the du-all is run over and you can see hardly no damage to the cover crop and a clean seedbed to plant on.
