Subject: RE: saving seed ??????

North Central Iowa

Just to chime in here with the others.  I grow seed beans for Syngenta.  They dump any untreated seed (sell it at the local elevator) that gets returned, and dispose of the treated seed somewhere.  My father-in-law works at Asgrow (Monsanto).  They also dump their untreated seed beans and dispose of the treated beans.  I imagine that the other companies do the same, but I know for sure about these two.  If they aren't keeping it, I sure don't want to!  Neither company would waste that money if there was any payback to keeping it and rebagging the following year.  Corn does get kept over sometimes in cold storage, but the bean germ won't be worth talking about.

HTH,

Mike
