When I get a new GPS device I like to test the stationary accuracy for 24 hours or so while noting the times of poor satelite coverage. Hopefully I can get a suitable test setup for the EZ guide 500 tomorrow afternoon.
I have a small inventory of survey grade gps boxes, antennas and coast guard GPS beacons. I was hoping to hook up a coast guard beacon to send out RTCM corrections to the EZ 500, but after reading the manual and looking things over I guess not.
It sounds like an EZ-guide + might be the ticket for testing RTCM input. Can anyone confirm whether the standard GPS on a EZ + has two Com ports to accept RTCM in and still send NMEA out?
Unfortunately it appears that a person would have to give up a lot of other functionallity, like a USB port and compatibility with new EZ office software with the older model? | |
