Subject: Clipping baby pig's needle teeth

I understand that some farrowing operations do not clip piglet needle teeth to avoid infection and gum damage to the piglet. My observations in a 5,000 sow operation is that I see increased sow dis-comfort while nursing, skin jowl infections on the piglets, and I understand greasy pig disease is common in the nursery once this piglets are weaned off the mother. Upper management argues that these needle teeth fall off at 45 days of age and are a non-factor. I like to see these teeth clipped when the piglets are handled initially after birth. What do you folks do about needle teeth? TIA.
