Brazilton KS | I'd say it is mostly about the simple fact that cattle are finished near the big packing houses in SW KS and not near Emporia. It doesn't make much sense to be hauling them clear back here to a packing plant. There are still a handful of eastern yards, but not enough to support a modern plant in the future. If you add in the resistance which seems to have existed in the community, what do they expect.
