DDGS is probably the best value out there for protein source for beef.  Here's why:

Gluten Feed Pellets:    18% CP   $165/ton     $0.46/lb CP

DDGS:                       27% CP   $185/ton     $0.34/lb CP

SB Meal:                    48% CP   $350/ton     $0.36/lb CP

These are general prices - probably will be higher in the country, but it gives you an idea.  Looks like DDGS has come up to nearly match SB meal recently.

Point is - Go out and look for deals, not just sit back and wait for things to happen.
