Subject: RE: What do you mean?

Rich, I've been buying bulk 60/40 cracked corn/DDG picked up in town @ $180/ton. I think it would be the same prices semi load delivered. I pretty much only feed to replacement heifers, and background steer calves with my herd bulls. I never thought about your caution on wet distillers on bred cows. I'm too far away from a plant to ever get wet distillers anyway. I've heard that there can be too much sulfur content in a DDG diet, especially if the cattle's drinking water contains a lot of sulfur. Causes a mineral imbalance with polio-like symptoms. Name of the condition is polio-somethingorother. I've never had a problem. They add sulphuric acid to the wet distillers to kill the fermentation process. That's where the excess sulfer comes from.
