Kansas | Now why add the acid to kill the fermentation process when all they would need to do is dry it down?
Just how dry is ddgs? Anything under 40 percent moisture considered a ddg? That might explain that.
Yea, on the wet dgs John there has been several reports of "lazy" calves after birth. Guys were really concerned and then some fellas noticed that the farm cats after getting into the wdgs and eating some were loopy and walking like a drunk. Vet said that the "lazy" calves were similar to fetal alcohol syndrome. Took the wdgs away from the cows and the problem went away.
What percent protein is you ddgs at 180 a ton? Can you supplement more alfalfa and drop your ddg usage? I know you cannot get rid of it entirely and rely on alfalfa. Just seems to me right now hay is a cheap feed for anything. At least in this neck of the woods. So sick........sold it regularly for 100 a ton last year. | |
