Funny ours works just about the opposite around here. Later maturities seem to be more consistent throughout the dry and wet years. We always like to get a few acres of early varieties for early harvest at sensible moistures. Some years they yield right up there w/the later ones. Other years like this, they have no chance to beat the later varieties.
