Subject: Need a little help with the obvious..........weight of eared corn.......

Oskaloosa, Iowa 52577

I haven't weighed eared corn for 40 years.................

Apparently, when the tables provide the weight for corn on the ear, it provides the weight of the amount of eared corn it takes to make a bushel of corn itself, ie shelled corn..........true??

As compared to providing the weight of a bushel (volume) of actual corn on the ear.

Tables say corn on ear is 70lbs per bushel.  A bushel (volume) of corn still on the ear.......if it weighs 70lbs..........it has to be waaay over 30+% moisture........no. 2 blue???????

I have not seen corn on the ear quoted on commercial basis since I was a kid, so I just don't remember-------same price as shelled corn, with the adjustment in pounds, or was the adjustment in the price???

Just curious.
