Subject: Re: How Much Urea in band can corn take

I am continuous corn irrigated and I usually have yields in the 220 to 250 range. These fields have been in corn for 17 years straight. This will be my first year of striptill and in the past I have been banding UAN on the surface and then incorperating with 1" of irrigation about 2 to 3 weeks before planting. I didn't know if banding under the row will allow me reduce my rates without reducing my yeild on this continuos corn ground, that is why I am looking at such high rates of N. My soil test show a need for 220 to 240 lbs of N when I take my 6" and 24" profiles.
