Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska
I trust a local Coop or any business where several people are involved from loading to weighing to applying to accounting. For one thing they would all have to be cheating together to get away with something. That in itself would be unlikely and difficult to get done. The next thing would be why do it? In order for personal gain they would have to use or sell the extra product some place else. It's just unlikely you could get several people to cheat customers without someone letting out the information.
Now, I'm leary of private individuals, particularly other farmers, doing custom spraying or fertilizing. They could cut rates 10% and charge full amounts and most likely you would never know or SEE the difference. They could then turn around and use that 10% leftover on their own farm or sell it to someone else.
