You bring up a valid point, how does GMO corn residue/pollen runoff compare to insecticide runoff? What is the toxicity level? How could you extrapolate that to actual levels without knowing how many acres were planted to Bt corn and how many acres had insecticide put on, the rates involved, wind direction/speed, precipitation, etc. Just saying something can have an effect on aquatic bugs doesn't tell us much of anything really. I know most of us feel a heck of a lot safer having bags of Bt corn in the shed versus a single bag of insecticide. A question that bothers me is what is the effect of wide-spread spraying for aphids or the wide-spread spraying for mosquitoes around the metro areas, isn't that focused on the areas where those aquatic bugs are?
