FWIW , its my outlandish theory ihat mechanical harvest stirs up the molecules in the corn kernels and causes them to conduct a little more electricity. I noticed 40 years ago that corn setting on a wagon overnight would also be 1-2 points drier than corn shelled and taken directly to the elevator. Maybe it was that old 45 combine?lol,bob
