Well try these numbers, actual shrink is close to 1.2% for each point of moisture removed, so 18% dropped to 15% would be a 3.6% whether grain is field dried or heat dried.
Now 1% FM charge, (foreign material)
1% storage loss(we all know who is paying that loss, even if it never is shown)
so if we take the above and then subtract them from the 9% the cost to dry is then 3.4% or 1.2% for each point corn at $4/bu 150 bpa $21.60 drying charge.
There is a reason I have my own bins and dryer.
