Warm air rises so I don't worry too much about the roof vents.

I use to warm mine up in the spring until I had trouble one year. I talked to the local elevator manager & he told me they chilled theirs in the winter then didn't turn the fans back on. I figured if it worked for them with several million bu. of corn it should work for me and it has

A couple years ago we were emptying bins in late July & temps air temps outside were over 100º. Wife said she didn't see how we could stand to work in the bins when it was that hot. I told her it was much cooler in the bins because the temp of the corn was less than 60º and helped cool the air. Last bin we did we had a couple semi loads left on a Friday eve so didn't finish till Mon morning. Was miserable in the bin come Mon. morning due to the heat.
