As I understand the concept (we have one "air bin"), the key to natural air drying is airflow whereby the cooling element of moisture evaporation helps keep the grain temp from getting too high. During the warm part of harvest season, grain that is too wet for the air flow will stay too warm and risk quality deterioration before the grain drops to a safe level.
This is why it works well for cainfarmer.... he only fills the bin partially full thus his relative airflow is higher.
We really like natural air grain handling but are usually doing it with cooler "fall" air.
