Go to your local coop and see if they have an anhydrous ammonia tank they need to empty. Fill your sprayer with water, put the hose from the NH3 tank in the water of your sprayer and just crack the valve on the NH3 tank. It will bubble some ammonia into your sprayer with a somewhat violent reaction with the water. Just let the bubble in for a couple of minutes with the valve just barely open, run some into your all your hoses and let it set overnight. Run it out through your sprayer hoses and rinse everything with clean water. Letting the 2,4-D set in the tank and hoses for that long will mean extra effort to make sure your sprayer is clean. It is especially important to have a clean tank if you are spraying bigger beans. Early in the beans life, a little 2,4-D or dicamba residue will not hurt the yield, but bigger beans will have a reduced yield if sprayed with a contaminated sprayer.
