Thanks for explaining that. When I first read it I looked it up in dictionary. Waddle ---to walk like a duck. What????? I asked my wife about it and she suggested trying " wattle " . Wattle ( 1 ) ... 1a the bright red flesh hanging down from the throat on the males of chickens, turkeys, etc. b. a fleshy appendage below the throat of certain reptiles c. the barbel of a fish 2. slang-- a loose fold of skin hanging under a person's chin.
Wattle ( 2 ) sticks interwoven with twigs, branches , or reeds; framework of wicker.

So, with the your explanation of cutting a fold of skin ( wattle ), I can understand that " waddle " was just your spelling of what you probably always heard as a mispronunciation of " wattle" .
