Rob, I don't need more protein with my 13% protein hay. I use Crystalyx Mineralyx tubs which are a very good mineral source for my system but does have 6% protein. They also have white salt lick block out at all times. Feeding corn or pellets is just not an option for me.

While I finish steers grazing standing corn, my bred cows and bulls never get any corn (BTDT) other than a pound or two of sweet feed as a gentling treat once every couple weeks or so.
