Anyone have tips for welding magnetized pipe?

We also have Bois-d-Arc corners dating back to 1920s!

Rail-road ties are good for about 30 yr here. The same or more for bottoms of large cresote treated utility poles.


Heard somewhere about wrapping one of the welding leads several times around the pipe to demagnetize it when the current passes through after you strike the arc. Never had that problem, so I can't comment on how it works.
