To me anything shorter than 3/4 inch your loosing way to much effective fiber. The processors on the choppers today take care of the grain and cobs so take advantage of that and make your harvester change the setting its usually a push of a button and its a done deal. Don't throw your money away on fine cut silage!!! The feed is to expensive to to waste it
