Subject: Corn silage length of cut?

Eldridge, Iowa
Can corn silage be cut too fine for beef cattle? My custom harvester always strives for a very fine cut and uses a kernel processor as well. My dad always said you can have the cut too fine, but my harvester guy disagrees. I ask because I am having a little trouble getting my calves started on corn silage as some have shown some bloating and a few are off feed even after 10 days of working them up on it. Any opinions? Thanks in advance.
