MN | We have a Sioux Hoop building for hogs - been up since 1999 and tarp still looks good. The roll up doors weren't the best and tarp ends weren't installed properly from the beginning so have replaced that all with plywood/steel. We replaced the doors this year with a two track door from Winkler. We have two Winklers also. We've fed a lot of hogs through that building. We have another Winkler hoop designed initially for hogs but we've switched to cattle - with solid cement floor - lots of bedding required, but when you clean out the building you have a base. Have holsteins in it right now - and they have licked their way through 2 x 6's - be forewarned... The great part about the hoops is the flexibility - we have hogs and cattle in one building and works okay. The taxes part is a thorn in my side - taxed as if they were permanent structures in our county regardless of my attempts to have reclassified. | |
