| Thanks, your link didn't quite work, but I got to the right page eventually (still have not got my registration confirmation email though so I can't 'sign'). I noticed there is a petition to keep the ban signed by 5000 vs. 3300 to kill the ban. I think the 5000 just have no idea, but I think the problem is worse. We are getting to a point of serious reality disconnection in our country. I read an article about the 'govenator' and I had previously thought he wasn't a very effective leader, but he actually tried to get people to vote for balancing the budget and got shot down soundly. Apparently the folks want services and don't have to pay for them. The horse slaughter ban is the same sort of deal - they don't want horses to get slaughtered, but they also don't want to take care of them either (that's somebody elses responsibility - maybe the rich).
I'm not sure we are going to win with a public as 'socialized' and dumbed down as this.
