Subject: Re: daily hauling manure from a freestall barn

Chilliwack BC
We haul daily from a freestall barn with a vacuum tanker to another pit and other than being labour intensive, it works fine. If its going to feeze, leave the valve open, and pull the drain cap off the boom so it empties right out. It only freezes a couple weeks a year here, and never gets colder than 10 degrees below freezing. We also use 30+ yards a week of sand, which isn't too bad to clean out.
