Thompsontown, Pennsylvania | Get yourself a v-tank spreader. Knight is the best kind but most any will work. Have a friend still daily hauling with a orange avco new idea side slinger. If its real soupy get yourself a lid it will save headaches. Up til this summer I daily hauled sandladen freestallmanure with a gel/nh box spreader with slurrysides. NOT FUN. Even being careful you could get a wave 2ft high going in the spreader and if you had to stop on the road suddenly you had a sh#t tsunami all over the road. Yes if a regular slurry tanker is all you have or can get it will work, benefit of the side slinger is it can be used in other manures, has the auger in the bottom unlike alot of slurry tankers to help with moving the Lime that settles and when its wet you have the option to shoot it out the side while you drive down the road or field lane or along the edge of hayfield etc. |
