We have a Vermeer 605M with about 3000 cornstalk bales through it and have yet to replace a pickup tooth. We charge 12 a bale to rake and bale and can do about 20-25 bales an hour. Has definately helped pay for the baler. We just use a wheel rake and take about 6-8 rows and go. Sure it takes nutrients off the field but we feed it to cattle and then haul manure back on so I think we are improving the ground more than hurting it.
