Saronville NE | On calves like that when I buy that 450-500 weight at salebarn unweaned, I start em out on grass hay in bale feeder fre choice, for 2 days with no grain, get em settled down a bit, then start with 2lbs PHPD of just rolled corn with DDG mixed in it, and top dress that with CTC for 5 days, then just slowly increase, once I get em broke good, then I got to feedwagon with rolled corn, distillers, ground alfalfa and grass mixed and just keep uping it from there till I sell em at 850lbs. Will add silage after awhile also, but didnt cut any this yr with the corn price, just going to be hay, rolled corn and distillers this yr. | |
