central Ia. | weaned the calves about a week ago,and started them on a ration from the coop that they recomended. corn, oats, gluten pellets,protien, and aminogain. they said it was really good to wean with as they would not over eat,and it has worked real well to get them all bunk broke. That being said I don't want to keep feeding it because its $300/ton. would like to go to a plain rolled corn, protien ration. Of course coop guy doesn't think I should, but dad use to do it all time with no trouble. How much protien per ton should I put in? and how many pounds per day should I start them on, also how far should work them up to? Don't want to get them fat just put some wieght on, I am giving them all the grass hay they want. TIA for any and all advise. | |
