Centre county Pennsylvania, USA
We do our own hauling, corn and beans only.

We submit tickets when we either complete contract, or when we need some money. Payment has been reasonably quick. Before margin explosion, Keystone folks cut and mailed check day after getting tickets. Since margin explosion, checks have been arriving within 2 weeks of our submittal. I think financial backers are now insisting on some "float", but not unreasonable.

We have tried almost all ways of selling grain here. We still sell some corn direct to dairy farmers as high moisture shelled corn, but that market is too small and time consuming. No drying costs but it takes longer to unload 25 ton payload in dairy farmer's roller mill than it takes to combine and truck each load. We have sold grain direct to elevators (no broker) but have had several bad experiences with payment from elevators. Over the years we have gotten several letters from lawyer people that said don't bother to sue for payment, all monies from elevator bankruptcy proceedings are needed to pay bankers and lawyers. Those are the reasons we like Keystone, so far.........................
