EC North Dakota | Our fire department has been running one for years. Last year we charged $30 in advance and $35 at the door. All you can eat, good 8 oz steak, more if you want, baked taters, baked beans, french bread, full boat salad bar (lettuce, cocktail shrimp, smoked turkey, deviled eggs, meatballs and cocktail weenies in BBQ sauce, plus some other odd fillers), home style french fries as appetizers. We also include beverages, coffee, water, beer, and limited amount of hard drinks.
We do some raffles for turkeys, bacon, and hams, and raffle for a TV or something of similar value. Have a door prize drawing for ticket holders.
We limit ticket sales to 300 as that is all we can handle in the fire hall for seating. We do our own cooking of the steaks on our gas grill (commercial size so get about 40 steaks on at one time). We went to the 8 oz. steaks because the larger steaks we were seeing a lot not get fully eaten, so decided to go smaller and let those with big appetites take and extra 1/2 or come back for seconds.
We usually net around 3500 to 4000 for the evening. | |
