My cows are all fall calvers. Late Aug thru nov. I too just go out and check 3-4 times a week, works great for me. Haven't lost very many calves that way. I have a friend that calves jan - march and he's always losing calves - temp swings, severe cold, the babies lay by the feeder and get stepped on, snow, mud. | |
