That 1150 may look cheap but it must have been built good enough, its gotta be ~30 yrs old. 

They started selling 1250's prior to CIH.

 

Old Arts-Way grinders are not the most refined but they get the job done load after load, day after day, year after year.

Get one with a hyd hopper powered by the tractor hyd, the gears on the unload auger aren't much trouble if you do a little bit of maintenance once in a while.

No hyd pump on the mill to rob hp is a plus in my book.

 

Hyd lift and swing on the unload is the cats meow if you do much grinding.




Do you really think the self contained hydraulics take that much power? We couldn't tell much difference when we went from a gear drive to a hydraulic drive with same size mill. And with the self contained you don't have to mess with those hoses or have an extra valve to hook them to.
