Driftless SW Wisconsin | I agree on using the CED rather than just BW as a calving ease indicator. There is a lot more to calving ease than just birthweight. I'm glad to hear you like the Proficient calving ease. I bought a Proficient heifer this fall and was concerned about her calving on her own. HopefulLy she was bred to another "calving ease" bull when I bought her. We'll see how this goes. I feel better when they are bred to my own, known bull. Jim | |
