wow-I usually use bought wt.-buy 500# calf feed it 350 days-weighs 1304# pay wt-I know if it gains 804# at 350 days it gained 2.3# aday.But if I use the shrunk wt 470# and the non shrunk wt going out 1330# it gained 860# or 2.45# a day-it doesnt matter what they gain in my lot as long as its above cost. I always figure 2# a day and hope for the best but plan for the worse-had 1 group of the uglist cattle once gain 4# a day on earcorn,had 1 group of the best lookin cattle gain 1.7# once.Once told my eco teacher the only 2 things you need to know in life to be sucessful- Math and Freight,was kicked out of class,asked not to come back?
I think the only weight you can use is your purchase wt and sale wt. minus Freight of course! What am I missing in my thinking?
