i have a lot of problems with algae in the summer and the water from the one shallow well smells terrible. the only thing i have tried that keeps me from having to scrub tanks weekly is hydrogen peroxide. it does not claim to prevent algae but i have seen that it does. this is not a cheap alternative but it reduces my labor requirements.
