Hello Marco.  I was also struck by the link. And no, it is not crossing a bull with his daughters. The link describes the process as used by Montana, Colorado State and MSU.  As you say, food for thought on how to build from what you know and have if you have a standout bull and can select/cull. This is another reason why I think computer records are very important for cattle.

I have a good customer in SD who often reminds me of what a good cross the Chars make with blacks or Herefords.  He says they really put on the pounds.  I should be in Minot but our show manning sometimes changes. I like that show and area. Just need to stay out of the livestock barns though!  Stop by if you can.

Yes it does take reading the link a couple times to realize what he is saying. Some folks react negatively without really understanding the process.
