western iowa,by Denison | Not something we really want to do ,if you feed 200-800 head a year looks like a cheaper alternative then building a mega lagoon-less space,plus most Iowa cattle feeders already handle a lot of bedding-in my feedlot I will probably use less bedding as I alredy bedded them down in the outside pens-normally go through 700 bales in the winter on 700 head-somedays when it snows I might shred 35 cornstalk bales-haul it out 4 days later and do it again!Nothing better then having 600# heifers standing knee deep in dry bedding! | |
