Mace, we actually paid $10 for our full jersey bull calf, day old. My understanding of the main problem with dairy bulls/steers is they don't feed out the same as beef animals, need more feed per pound, so that is why they typically bring less. Most old timers that grew up with Jersey family milk cows will tell you Jersey is one of the best beefs there is though.
