Some go to calf ropers who use them for practice (200-300 pds). Some go to individuals (backyard types) who want to raise a calf (300-650 pds). The advantages for the backyard person is that they are gentle. Some go to the yard.. Calf ropers and individuals pay the most per head ($200-$600). Most go to the yard where I average about 60 cents a pund. I'm in California.
